Back to the U.S. of A.

July 13

Yesterday Glen did catch some fish.  Four small Walleyes.  Not the size he wanted but we ate two of them last night, they were delicious!!

After saying goodbye to Dog Lake and driving the ‘longest 3 miles of our life’ again we headed down Hwy 61 on the west rim of Lake Superior towards the good old U.S. of A. The border patrol had taken lessons in congeniality from the Canadians by the way.  Actually one was very nice, one not so much.

We stopped for breakfast at an overlook.  Pancakes and bacon hit the spot with beautiful scenery in front of us!

A couple hours later we hiked up to Gooseberry Falls.  The Park was full of Minnesotans (add accent) taking advantage of a beautiful day. Then a stop at Betty’s Pies, recommended by John and Julie Wander satisfied a mid afternoon sweet tooth.  Mine was the Great Lakes berry pie.  Delicious again.

We are camped near Duluth at Fond du lac Rv Park right on the St. Louis River.  Tonight is eat out of the fridge night cause I don't want to cook and there was that pie earlier…haha.

Glen has dropped his line into the water again but now I am thinking it jus something to do to pretend he is doing something:)

Tomorrow, we are in search of golf and a campsite with good wifi, if there is such a thing.
