Back in Thousand Oaks, home at last! HaHa

After multiple goodbyes and hug after hug; we left Oxnard and Glenda's, house and family.  We took a very short journey to Thousand Oaks, or T.O. as we called. it.  We moved here to begin our married life (1974) and all three daughters were born here.  Obviously we left many friends behind in 1992 when we moved to Asheville, NC making a new life and new friends.

We began the day by going to our old home church where we were members for almost twenty years.  The church looked the same but we had a time finding anyone who was still there after a 26 year absence on our part.  I was thinking during the service that we had begun our marriage here 44 1/2 years ago and God has been faithful to keeps us together during all that time.  Even through 2 MONTHS OF LIVING IN A 24 FOOT RV CALLED ROCINANTE!! "Now that there is a bona fide miracle" if I may borrow the Eddie Griswald vernacular.  Haha.

One of those previously mentioned good friends, opened their home to have an impromptu BBQ for us to gather around.  Old and new stories flew around the table, laughs were a plenty and also more hugs:) Thank you Pat and Lisa for the Hamburgers and Hot Dogs and, more importantly, the open door and open arms.

Today Glen is playing golf with Don at Los Robles Greens before we head south again. This time to Temecula and an appt. for Roci to get new chassis batteries. She has not been doing a good job keeping the milk cold.  Yeah, that was it, the milk was getting warm:)

The end of a perfect day. We found a campsite on Dana Point, Cheers!

  1. That is awesome. I didn’t realize you saw all of them. I was just explaining to Nick that these people are who I grew up with (well their kids) but they were our stand in parents and amazing people. So fun!!!
