A visit to Palos Verdes Peninsula, Zuma Beach and Family

Leaving Modesto we  had planned a stop in Fresno to visit a long time childhood friend of Glen's.  Scott (little Scott as he was known ) and his family lived next door to Glen and his family from age 2 to about age 8.  They had not seen each other for 48 years.  Well, Scott and his significant other, Vanessa, prepared a fabulous meal for us and hosted a lovely evening. It has been fun connecting to friends from the pass.

Next we turned Roci towards SoCal and a stop in Palos Verdes Peninsula to see Gary and his two daughters Shawna and Shelle.  We missed Shelle's husband and son Xavier and Guenna, 12.  Gary is Glen's cousin on his Dad's side.  I know you did not need to know that...haha.  They live in a beautiful area of SoCal in the hills. I walked the next morning early and was met with the delicious smells of Eucalyptus and ocean air.

We giggled over good stories and good food at the dinner table and lounged the next morning away before heading off. For a drive up the coast.

There is nothing like driving PCH in the summer time on a beautiful sunny day. Zuma Beach was the only stop.  This is the beach that both Glen and I went as kids.  We may have spent a few 'school days' there at life guard station number three. Haha. We had to stop, Glen was going to body surf!  Well, he forgot about how cold the Pacific Ocean is,  gorgeous but, cold.
